About Us
Change can only happen within YOU
Hi, I'm Chanel Hollins and thank you for stopping by. Just like I did you can make a different choice. It's A New Journey is a statewide organization and a coalition of organizations, groups and individuals that strive to promote conditions that prevent and eliminate domestic violence by educating its members and community partners. We provide informational resources to the community; and advocating as a strong, unified voice for victims/survivors of domestic violence, including children who are affected with domestic violence programs and victim service providers.

My Story
In 2020, I had a break down as I was being haunted by demons. My body was in flames and I was at my breaking point. I had no one to talk to. I was lost, had given up on everything. My faith.....instead of having it i was judging God. I had thoughts f evil revenge. I thought nobody was there, but HE was there the whole time. I was just too afraid to ask for help. A church in Minneapolis, MN saved my life. My body was on fire from all the demons attacking me and I could not stop my tears from flowing down my face. I believed that if I walked in a church I would go up in flames. The devil was playing with my mind and poking at my heart because I felt no beat. I needed to talk to somebody, but no one was there. I felt my life slipping away from me, every-time I got up I fell back down the hole like quick sand that continued to pull me under. All I could do was nothing. So I walked and walked and walked myself into a church. My body started to shake, I was weak. I could not stand up and pastor Curtis SET ME FREE for all evil. I realized that the demons was me. The person I was hiding from, and afraid of was myself. My soul, body, mind and spirit are finally free and I am very thankful for worldwide outreach.

Our Approach
People who are hurt need to know it is not their fault and it is ok to ask for help. We should all feel safe and valued in our lives.
Knowledge is a powerful thing and when we know better we do better. Women and children need positive role models in their lives and we are here to be just that.

Philosophy of Recovery
Everyone has the right to live safely without fear, abuse, coercion, oppression and violence. We oppose all forms of dominance over others. It's A New Journey is fully committed to changing social and structural conditions which support the use of power to control and harm others. Abusers and offenders should be held accountable for their systematic abuse and disempowerment of domestic violence victims and survivors.
Working against domestic violence conditions is best achieved with someone who you can relate to, understand how you feel, been where you've been, and what you've been through.
We believe services should always be accessible and responsive to domestic violence victims/survivors, inclusive of all identities, beliefs, abilities and experiences. We commit to being accountable to our communities, to domestic violence victims/survivors from diverse groups and to their children.
We believe in a supportive, ethical, collaborative atmosphere in all aspects of our programs. Open communication, respect, and cooperation are foundational to our work and core in empowering others.
We encourage the participation of all persons and groups who are committed to the movement to end domestic violence.
